Australian Country magazine
NEW LOOK and paper stock upgrade
Australian Country magazine has been given a bold new look and stock upgrade with Vol 22 No 6, publishing on 21st November 2019.
The new look Australian Country carries the tag line “stories from the heartland” – exactly what the publication has become known for over its many years of publication.
The new look has a design that breathes, allowing more room for the big vistas of the country we love, and is now published on a contemporary eco paper stock that reflects the down-to-earth nature of the content and its connection to the land.
“We’re delighted to have both the extra space and new format to better showcase the wonderful work of our talented photographers and the people and places they feature in the magazine,” Editor Kirsty McKenzie says.
The first edition carrying the new look displays Tasmanian poppies on the cover and offers a breathtaking tour of the nation. We profile a former bank building given new life in the Queensland town of Emerald, peruse life on a South Australian family farm, and visit a designer home west of the Blue Mountains. We road-trip The Grampians, visit a Victorian wilderness weekender and discover some terrific country businesses in action – Coomber Bros Jewellers and Table Cape Tulip Farm. We also catch up with milliner Waltraund Reiner, who takes hat-making classes to the bush in her Hatmobile and brings much-needed relief to country people seeking an outlet from the pressures of the drought.
This edition of Australian Country also looks at a micro-eatery in hilltop Queensland, demonstrates recipes and tricks of the trade from Chyka Keebaugh and showcases some great summer fashions. And don’t miss our visit to author Meg Bignell at home on her Tasmanian country acres.
The makeover is just one of a number of investments being made in Australian Country as it grows from year to year. The new look will also apply to the next edition of the sister title, Australian Country Homes.
