EatWell Magazine is offering a smorgasbord for brands with a Christmas TV show on Channel Nine

This Saturday, EatWell magazine is bringing its first-ever 60-minute Christmas show to life on Channel Nine.

Host and former Master Chef Winner Emma Dean brings a refreshingly earthy take on a true Aussie Christmas. Shot during lockdown on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, this is a warm, welcoming Christmas oozing authenticity, from a campfire dinner to a vegan feast that would delight anyone. An EatWell Christmas is fresh, easy, healthy, based on great local produce and just plain fun.

EatWell TV was launched in 2020 with a 30-second ‘recipe idea’ format, but the Christmas show has diversified the brand into a whole new level of play. “Our audiences want to view content as a multi-platform integrated experience, and this latest addition brings feeling to the brand. We are also proud to give our clients a more end-to-end integrated experience and diversify our platform reach,” said Publisher Janice Williams. “There’s nothing like sprinkling a little Christmas magic to inspire a ‘pathway to purchase’ approach for FMCG brands.”

Executive Producer Emily Owens of Toffee Studios calls EatWell TV the little show that could. “Shooting in the world’s harshest lockdowns threw us so many challenges. But despite all this, the TV Special for EatWell has been one of my proudest achievements in 16 years of television. This wasn’t just about making a high-quality Christmas cooking special – the show was about building a community of people committed to making something great against all the odds. We were fuelled with purpose and surrounded by people and the EatWell team, who were supercharged with a passion for food and celebration. It was infectious and a true wake-up call for what makes us thrive as humans.

“It felt just like a student film at times, hand-making our DIY Christmas props with overqualified runners. But that’s what made it exciting. We embraced all the bumps and imperfections as a true reflection of our current lives.

“What made this program different is the approach that EatWell brought to the process. With an ethos that places its audience first, the EatWell team was brave to work with what COVID had served us and allow the story to unfold. This is the first program I have worked on where it wasn’t about being ‘perfect’ for the camera. We actively chose to embrace the imperfections, and on-camera stuff-ups were welcomed to make this feel totally real. We have now created something truly unique, very entertaining and a reflection of how fun things can be when it’s a ‘not so perfect Christmas’,” said Emily.

“As a difficult year draws to a close, we sense that the EatWell Christmas Special is exactly what people are looking for – earthy, real and delightfully free. Like all good Aussie Christmases should be,” said Publisher Janice Williams.

You can catch EatWell Christmas with Emma Dean on the Nine Network on December 11th at 3.30pm and then available to stream on 9NOW.
